Are you numb?

Three in one day has to be a record. This thought came to me as I shared my passion with a co-worker today. I was reminded of what life can feel like when we are not really living -- you become numb to the world. You remove yourself from feeling anything. I did that for so long. Yes, I admit it. I had "checked out" and was going through the motions. Are you numb? Have you checked out? Why? Maybe if you ask yourself that question, it is not an answer easily found. Maybe it was a combination of things and you lost hope. You were not ready to take the challenge before you, so you made it work. So many people I see are numb. The anesthesia that they self-administer is much easier to deal with than changing something to make it better. It is easy. They become accustomed to an empty existence that gets them from day to day with tasks that neither encourage growth nor budge them into action. Why would you want to continue to do that if you knew you didn't have to? Here is the secret...come closer...yes, just a little bit closer...YOU DON'T HAVE TO!!! YOU CHOSE THIS LIFE!!! Eventually the insensitive becomes old and dies. Your heart is not meant to beat that way. You were born with feelings and a soul that should be open to what the world has in store for you. What are you SERIOUSLY waiting for? I can write all day long until you get it. It will take you 15 minutes to get started on where you need to be. You know it and I know it. You choose...aren't you tired of walking around with a dead sense to you? I am. And I am never going back to that again. Ever.

Channel your own path

We all have paths we take. Some we are paths we have not chosen, yet needed to take for reasons we may not have understood at the time. Some we are yet to take and are unsure of what will come our way. And yet others, we can decide for ourselves and purposefully select paths for our reasons. Which path are you on right now? One that was chosen for you or one that you have chosen for yourself? Which one would you pick if you could? Do you think you have a choice? Maybe not all of the time, but if you could incorporate a new path, would you take the chance to create it? What would it look like? Who would be next to you, always there, as you travel that path? Paths taken are not always what we think they should be and at times bring us things we did not want. Those are things we cannot change. It is necessary to accept them and move on. There is work left to do, people to meet, and dreams to make reality. Then, other paths take us to places that brings us such joy and happiness that it would have been impossible to even imagine it. How awesome it is when you can realize that you have control over the way you want to channel your path. Your path will amaze you and mine amazes me more everyday. To where it almost stops me in my tracks and takes my breath away. When I look back at where I was six months ago or a year ago, I have to really search for what my path looked like then. I cannot even remember what my path looked like last week, even. My path is like the yellow-brick road - as I continue to travel, the road appears almost underneath each foot as I take my next step. Never sure what lays in front of me, but never looking back. I am constantly growing in my faith, in my dedication to making my life different than my past, in my committment to my dreams and making them come true. Are you still wondering what you are doing here? You have to give in to the path that is before you...you will not regret it and you will be forever better. I told Rocky's mom once that "I am better because of her and she is better because of me." Mama Rock looked at me and told me, "No one has ever said that about her before." I said it and mean it. Everyday and always will. There is a reason (GOD) put the two of us on the same path that day that changed our lives forever. We have also traveled other paths we never thought we would, but are grateful that we did. They made us stronger and allowed us to be "all in". Pick your path...believe in it...embrace it...share it. This path is yours to take. WHERE DO YOU WANT TO GO?

When you just "know"

Have you ever been in a situation when you are surrounded by feelings of doubt and you question everything you have been taught and all that you believe to be true? We all have those moments. Have any of you seen "The Matrix"? Its premise is that the world as the the people in the movie know it, is a lie. They merely exist in a computer program and that nothing is real. Neo, the main character played by Keannu Reeves, has come to the attention of the resistance of the Matrix, and is told he is the "One". But Neo doesn't believe them; in fact, for the majority of the movie he keeps telling people his name is Mr. Anderson, not Neo. Neo means "new". The resistence still shows him things as agents keep trying to kill Neo because if he lives, the Matrix could be destroyed. But my absolute favorite part of the movie is near the end (who's isn't) when Neo accepts his name and starts to believe in his destiny. He starts to defend himself against the agents, almost effortlessly without trying very hard at all. Are you there yet? Have you been confronted with something that you are not sure how to take it so it questions all that you are at that point? I have been a thinker my whole life (and still am to an extent), but I have come to a point in my life when I just "know" what I need to do next. I know, beyond doubt, that my life needs to change and if by chance I happen to change others' lives along the way, then that is how it is meant to be. I know what I have to do and have been told that when I am "doing my thing" that it is neat to watch. I don't even realize I am doing it. I do it without thinking, without any real effort, without hesitation. I do it because I am meant to do it and am following my destiny. "There is a difference between knowing the path and walking the path." Are you in the "know" and if you are, have you started walking your path?

Different People, Same Minds

Someone told me yesterday that I needed to post something for August...when she told me that, I wondered what could I say? Am I running out of things to say? Then, I thought of her and another co-worker who I had visited with briefly earlier in the week and I found that we all had something in common. As I compared the three of us, I realized that we all come from different places, but are here...in the same place in our minds. If we aren't there yet, we cetainly want to be there. The more I am willing to open up and give freely of what I have to offer, I am still surprised at the reaction I receive from others. Our paths cross periodically at work, but never do we really get to know each other and appreciate who we really are as people. It is a shame that we cannot do that more, because that is what living is really about. Giving of ourselves, our genuine selves, is the most precious gift we can give anyone. People need to be less judgemental, more patient, and more understanding. For a very long time, I wanted things to be different, but didn't know how to start, where to start, etc. Then, it happened on its own. When this started, I told someone who questioned, "Why us?" and "Why now?" "that we are ready to receive it now." It has been a long time coming, but I am very grateful that I am not alone in my thinking about life. Every day, I am amazed that other people think similar thoughts as I do. Together, we will make it better. Every storm begins with just one drop of rain. Maybe this is our storm. Have a wonderful weekend.
